Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

CrossCaps is run by Wharf Street Studios (“we”). This policy covers the CrossCaps website and the CrossCaps app. It says what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and what you can do about it. You can browse markets without an account; we only hold personal data once you sign in.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
  • What you save: your watchlist, price alerts, notification settings, and Ride the Chart scores.
  • Ask CrossCaps: your recent questions and answers (the last 20), so your conversation is the same on all your devices.
  • Phone notifications: if you allow them, a push token for each phone, so alerts reach it.
  • Technical data: IP address and request details our servers log to keep the service secure and limit abuse.

We do not run ads, we do not use analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

Why we use it

To run your account and the features you use: showing your watchlist, checking your alerts and notifying you by push or email, answering your Ask questions, and showing the Ride leaderboard. On the leaderboard you appear as your first name and last initial (for example “Ada L.”), never your full name or email.

Who processes it for us

  • Clerk: sign-in and your account. Google, if you sign in with it.
  • Neon: our database. Render and Vercel: hosting for our servers and website.
  • Groq: generates Ask answers. Your question is sent to it, so please don’t include personal information.
  • Expo (with Apple and Google) delivers push notifications; Resend delivers alert emails.

Market data comes from CoinGecko and Yahoo Finance; we send them no personal data. These providers may process data outside your country, under their own safeguards.

Cookies and storage on your device

Sign-in uses cookies that keep you signed in. Your browser or phone also stores things like your theme, your Ask conversation, and your best Ride scores, so they load quickly. None of this is used for tracking.

How long we keep it

While you have an account. Delete your account (in the You tab in the app, or on the website: delete your account) and we delete it and everything you saved at once. Server logs are kept for a short time only.

Your choices and rights

You can change or delete what you saved at any time, turn notifications off, or delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. Write to admin@wharfstreetstudios.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
